Married for almost 40 years, David and Lorri Jones have spent their lives in the restaurant business, including running six Subway franchises over the course of a decade. The couple wanted to start their own restaurant, so when the opportunity presented itself in 2007, they took a leap of faith and opened Blazing Onion Burger Company in Mill Creek. It had its share of challenges but the concept was a blazing success and in 2009 David and Lorri opened another location in Uptown Gig Harbor.

David and Lorri have crafted Blazing Onion Burger Company to be a fast-casual restaurant with a mom-and-pop shop feel. Order at the counter and enjoy service-on-demand casual dining or choose a spot in the sports lounge and bar to catch a game and enjoy local draft beers, wines, whiskies, and signature cocktails. The menu has more than 20 unique sandwiches and gourmet burgers with seven different meat options as well as vegan and plant-based offerings. Each burger is all-natural (meaning no antibiotics or hormones) ground chuck from Painted Hills, topped with Blazing Onion Burger Company’s signature burger seasoning, and served on buns delivered by local bakers. Other menu items include build-your-own mac & cheese, salads, fish & chips, and more. David and Lorri have expanded the Blazing Onion Burger Company to eight locations in the 14 years since its inception and are hands-on with each restaurant keeping their commitment to quality a top priority. Each Blazing Onion Burger Company location sources their food locally and preps recipes, sauces, and seasonings daily from scratch in-house.

The Joneses and their Blazing Onion Burger Company employees take part in local golf tournaments, beer festivals, school fundraisers, and an assortment of regional charities and events where they connect with Gig Harbor residents and give back to our community.
