Cutters Point Coffee Co. - Gig Harbor, Washington
Let Gig Harbor's top real estate agent, Paige Schulte, walk you through town and introduce you to the small business owners of Gig Harbor. Gig Harbor boasts a vibrant downtown scene lined with local business owners along with delicious eats from Uptown to Downtown Gig Harbor.
Gig Harbor native and Cutters Point Coffee Co. founder and CEO Brooke Payne is passionate about his faith, his family, and his community. In our current fast-paced, social media culture, he saw a deep need for true connection. Observing that one of the most natural ways for people to connect is over a cup of coffee, Brooke and his wife Jennifer felt a calling to establish their own coffee shop with a nurturing, welcoming environment where community would be cultivated and customers treated with unmatched service and genuine hospitality. Their journey began in 1995 when the couple purchased a small espresso bar in Gig Harbor, Washington. They expanded the company in 2001 with their own roasting facility and rebranded to Cutters Point Coffee Co.–a nod to cutter boats, Point Fosdick, and Gig Harbor’s nautical history. With the help and support of their kids and community, success followed; and in the twenty-plus years since, Brooke and Jennifer have opened 12 more retail locations and are selling their coffee in hundreds of grocery stores nationwide.
Cutters Point Coffee Co. directly sources their beans from farmers around the world who share their vision of producing extraordinary coffee using responsible growing practices. The beans are then artisan-roasted in small batches to draw out the nuance of each coffee varietal. Brooke and Jennifer’s original mission of offering premium coffee in a warm, relationship-focused environment that makes a positive difference in the lives of their guests has never wavered and their shop in Gig Harbor that started so humbly is now affectionately recognized as “Gig Harbor’s living room.”
Brooke and Jennifer’s deeply grounded faith, integrity, honesty, and wisdom have helped steer the company through its years of growth as well as generously flowing back to the community. Every Cutters Point Coffee Co. location actively supports their local schools and neighborhood events. Cutters Point Coffee Co. helped found 41&Change, a charity which assists a Young Life Camp in Nicaragua through the growing and selling of locally-grown coffee.
