Even though summer is on its way out and school’s about to begin again, there are still plenty of events happening in and around Gig Harbor. Make the most of what’s still left of the warm weather with blackberry and music festivals before welcoming fall with cider swigs and harvest-time fun! 

The Waterfront Farmers Market

Catch the last few weeks of this summer’s Waterfront Farmers Market. Come by boat or foot and see all there is to choose from – food, flowers, artisan specialties, crafts, and more.

Olalla Americana Music Festival

South Kitsap Southern Little League Field | 5795 SE Hovgaard Road, Olalla, WA 98359

Saturday, August 20, 2022 | 11am

Come hear local music artists as well as nationally known names perform a variety of country, bluegrass, folk, blues, rock, and reggae. There will also be food trucks, a beer garden, handmade artisan items for sale and craft demonstrations, a berry pie baking contest, and activities for the kids. Gig Harbor Master Gardener Events

Come join the WSU Pierce County Extension Master Gardener Program for their final events of the summer!

Children’s Workshops

On Saturday, August 20, kids can learn about some Weird & Wonderful Plants in the garden, or make scarecrows and help harvest fall vegetables on Saturday, September 17. These activities are geared towards kids aged 5-11 and will take place from 10:30 to 11:30am. Go here to register!

Container Planting Classes

Hone your green thumb by learning how to best plant flowers and vegetables in your container gardens. These free Saturday classes will be wrapping up with two final dates, September 3 and September 25, both at 10am.

Garden Talks

Join George Frey on Saturday, September 10 from 10 to 11am to hear him speak about using mason bees as pollinators. The class is free and no registration is required.

Family Boat Building Workshop

Saturday, September 3 & Sunday, September 4, 2022 

If you’ve ever wanted to build a boat that’s actually seaworthy, here’s your chance! Build your own 12-foot salt bay skiff with the assistance of a wooden boat expert provided for each team. At the conclusion you’ll be able to celebrate your hard work with a ceremonial launch and a row around the harbor. Ages 12 and up. Blackberry Festival

Bremerton Boardwalk Marina & 2nd Street

Saturday, September 3 - Monday, September 5, 2022

Bring the family and spend Labor Day weekend celebrating everything blackberry! Sponsored by the Bremerton Rotary Foundation, proceeds benefit the community’s non-profit services, scholarships, parks, and more. There will be food vendors, booths with arts and crafts, activities for the kids, and live entertainment. If you need to know how to get there, directions are provided on the festival’s website.

Harbor Hounds

Bring the whole family (including the humans!) for a day of food, fun, and face painting (for the kids, that is). There will be a community dog walk, agility course, and even a chance for Fido to show off his special talents. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday, this event offers various ways to support the community and local charities. Harvest Home Festival

The Greater Peninsula Cider Festival is back! Enjoy a day with food, live music, and games as you experience the Pacific Northwest’s agricultural heritage and support local businesses. Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce 35th Annual Golf Tournament

In its 35th year, this tournament is a great way to make contacts and meet potential clients with players coming from all business backgrounds.
