In the midst of the gloomy days of a Gig Harbor winter, Brianne Kampbell was feeling burnt out. As a full-time mom of two and an estate planning lawyer with her own firm, she realized that she needed a creative outlet that would bring joy and light to her life and to the lives of others. Inspired by this desire, she began to explore candle-making. She enjoyed the relaxing process and was fascinated with how scent could bring back memories and inspire emotions. Confident that she had found the perfect business to bring beauty and inspiration to the everyday, Brianne launched her company in March 2018.

Located right in the middle of downtown Gig Harbor, En Light Candle Co. is the only candle shop in town that has locally-made, hand-poured, small-batch candles. Brianne has intentionally and thoughtfully crafted scents to evoke the feel of the Pacific Northwest like the woodsy, mellow scent of Driftwood, the clean, cool water and damp earth smell of In the Rain, the light and airy fragrance of Sea Salt, or the bright spring notes of Branch + Blossom that offer subtle hints of orange blossom, peony, and magnolia. Explore other candles like Breathe, Bright, Cozy, and Calm that each offer a unique gentle aroma that enhances the ambiance of any room without overpowering it. Each pure soy candle is clean-burning, paraffin-free, and phthalate-free, and is designed to inspire feelings of relaxation, peace, and well-being. Other offerings in the shop include diffusers, wax melts, room sprays, candle accessories, and seasonal candles.

With the mindset that “we are better together,” Brianne works with other small businesses and artists who are featured in her shop including Invitation Bookshop, Splendor + Stone, Loom and Gloom, Nate BeMiller, Wild Handful Farm, Defiant Candle Company, and Little Green Cards. En Light Candle Co. gives a portion of monthly profits to charitable organizations and works with local school fundraisers.
