Chris Olsen began working at Fondi Pizzeria in July 2012 to be closer to family, reduce his commute, and focus on the important things. Over the next few years Chris used his passion for coaching youth and staff to create a wonderful team that felt like family. When the opportunity arose in 2019, Chris purchased Fondi Pizzeria and spent the next couple of years navigating his Fondi family through COVID, shutdowns, and reopenings. Chris has developed Fondi Pizzeria into a dynamic and social neighborhood favorite that was named Gig Harbor’s Finest Pizza in 2023.
Fondi Pizzeria offers handcrafted Neapolitan Pizza, a style that originated from Naples, Italy and is characterized by its thin, soft, chewy crust that bubbles at the edges. There are many toppings that Fondi’s uses for their Neapolitan-style pizzas, but the classic original boasts fresh house-made mozzarella, tangy tomato sauce, and fresh chopped basil. Fondi’s menu also includes craft salads like their fan-favorite Bella Chop, as well as appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, and desserts. Whether you are enjoying Fondi’s indoor seating or their outdoor patio (the largest dining patio with a fireplace in Gig Harbor), you will feel like you have come home. Fondi Pizzeria is available for dine in, take out, or delivery, offers a military discount, and provides options for catering, wedding events, and large gatherings.
Giving back to local schools and nonprofits is a significant focus for Chris. For more than a decade he has developed Fondi’s educational outreach programs with schools, PTAs, and VPOs that involve fundraising incentives and educational support. Fondi Pizzeria partners with Uptown Gig Harbor to support educational fundraisers with The Gig Harbor Cruisers Automotive Club, Make Music Gig Harbor, and others.
