Kids’ Summer Camps That Still Have Room
We all know the feeling: you have every intention of enrolling the kids in summer camp the first day registration opens, but time gets away from you and now there are no slots left…or are there? Well, I’ve got good news for you. There are a fair amount of camps in Gig Harbor and the surrounding area that still have availability, but you have to act fast! Read on for all the details. With options from sports and robotics to art, music, and everything in-between, there’s sure to be something to please kiddos of any age with any interest.

Make some music this summer! The Tacoma Youth Symphony is offering two different sessions for orchestral musicians ages 8-21. Session 1 is for younger students and will consist of daily rehearsals, music theory classes, and recital demonstrations. Session 2 is for students from 9th grade up to age 21 and offers daily orchestra rehearsals, music theory, chamber music, and lectures.

Local YMCAs offer a variety of summer camps, including half-day camps for 3- and 4-year-olds, full-day camps for kids ages 5-12, and summer camps at your local school. They also have a long list of specialty camp options and art specialty camps.
Have a teen interested in becoming a summer camp counselor? The Summer Counselor in Training Program is open for 13- to 17-year-olds, and will give them the opportunity to work with college-age counselors as they facilitate camps for kids ages 3-12.

This camp in Port Orchard offers daily sessions for 1st-8th grade Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Have fun with activities like boating, archery, crafts, music, and more. (No transportation to and from camp offered this year.)
Offering a variety of opportunities for 3rd-12th grade. Recreation for lower grades include sports, crafts, and outdoor adventures, while activities for higher grades focus more on team building, leadership, and personal growth.
