After working for 14 years in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, Washington native Jennifer Luna moved back to the Pacific Northwest. She wanted to bring something new and unique to the region, so she started an online gift boutique with her mom Laurie Hicks in 2012. The two women ran the business from their Gig Harbor basement for two years before opening their brick and mortar store Paper Luxe in University Place, eventually moving to Fircrest in 2017. Ever the entrepreneurs, the mother-and-daughter team established three more stores over the next few years: The Curious Bear Toy & Book Shop, The Crest Home, and Little Luxe Baby. In 2021 Jennifer and Laurie opened a second Paper Luxe location in Gig Harbor.

Paper Luxe is a modern but approachable boutique with thoughtful and meaningful paper goods, gifts, and good vibes for every occasion. Jennifer and Laurie’s collection of handpicked items include greeting cards, books, candles, jewelry, houseplants, home goods, puzzles, games, stationery, art materials, party supplies, and an assortment of other gift items not found anywhere else in the area. Paper Luxe curates gift baskets for individuals and various local businesses for holidays, housewarmings, closing gifts, and corporate events. They also host creative workshops like floral arranging, cookie decorating, watercolor, and calligraphy taught by regional artists.

Paper Luxe is proud to carry a wide selection of gifts and goods crafted by Washington artists. Jennifer and Laurie actively give back to the communities they serve by donating their time and products to many local schools and community organizations. The Paper Luxe team champions causes and charities they hold dear such as Families Unlimited Network, Rainbow Center, and Tacoma Urban League.
