AR Workshop
Let Gig Harbor's top real estate agent, Paige Schulte, walk you through town and introduce you to the small business owners of Gig Harbor. Gig Harbor boasts a vibrant downtown scene lined with local business owners along with delicious eats from Uptown to Downtown Gig Harbor.
Theresa Meyers considers herself an ordinary person with an extraordinary curiosity and desire to create. She spent her career working in public relations and marketing, running her own agency in the publishing world, and writing 18 novels. After earning her Master’s Degree, Theresa started teaching English, Creative Writing, and Graphic Design at high school and university levels. In 2023 Theresa discovered that the Gig Harbor AR Workshop was on the verge of closing. Wanting to keep it open as a community resource and seeing it as a perfect opportunity to blend her love for creativity and teaching, Theresa purchased the shop and opened it under her new management in the autumn of 2023.
AR Workshop is a do-it-yourself boutique and art studio that teaches hands-on classes for creating stylish and on-trend custom home decor from various raw materials. The shop has something for everyone including bespoke wooden and framed signs, charming canvas wall hangings and personalized centerpiece boxes, and unique pillows and blankets. This sustainable makerspace hosts workshops for individuals, couples, groups, and kids and is available for private events, fundraisers, team building activities, and birthday parties. Check their often updated calendar for new classes including artistry events, monthly high teas, and writers workshops. Adults can grab a local Locust Cider in the bar area while exploring their creative side. AR Workshop isn’t just a shop, it’s a unique Gig Harbor experience destination.
Theresa is deeply connected with our community and is part of the Chamber of Commerce, Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance, the Gig Harbor Literary Society, and Kitsap Literary Artist and Writers. AR Workshop collaborates with several local makers and artists including Jeanne Anderson of Indigo Street Studios, Megan Robbins of Little Wicked Cakery, Dana Pobursky of Basic Bee Charcuterie, the Kusche family of Lemon Acres Farm in Olalla, and freelance fashion designer Bunny Henningsen of Curious Orange Cat. They donate to schools and nonprofits and actively participate in local family events.
