Summer Sounds at Skansie 2025

You know summer has officially arrived in Gig Harbor, Washington, when the first strains of music start making their way from Skansie Brothers Park in the heart of downtown. With free outdoor concerts taking place Tuesday evenings during July and August, from 6pm to 8pm as part of the city’s Summer Sounds at Skansie series, it’s a perfect way to savor the season’s long, sunny days. Each week features a different music group local to the Pacific Northwest, and with a wide array of genres—rock, pop, disco, and everything in-between—there’s sure to be something to delight any musical fancy. There are also plenty of options for how you can enjoy this quintessential summer experience: set up your chairs and blankets on the grass area surrounding the stage, pick a spot on the nearby Jerisich Dock, or listen from the water on your boat, kayak, or paddleboard. Satisfy your tastebuds by bringing a homemade picnic dinner, or pick up a meal from one of the many fares offered by Gig Harbor’s unique and varied eateries. Bring the whole family and join others in the community as you support local talent while taking in stunning views of the harbor and Mt. Rainier.

The first concert of the 2025 series will be on Tuesday, July 8th at 6pm with a performance by The Mixed Tape, a local band playing classic rock, country, pop and R&B. Band members include singer/guitar player Marc Johnson, singer/guitar player Joey Niemann, drummer Cameron Smith and bass player/singer Kyle Uecker. Come down and enjoy the evening as Gig Harbor kicks off another summer of music!

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the summer lineup:
