Neighborhood Tour: Reid Drive

Neighborhood Tour: Reid Drive on top of a picture of Gig Harbor

I’m Paige Schulte with AskPaigeSchulte.com, here to tell you about one of the most expensive areas of Gig Harbor: Reid Drive and the Soundview area, which is just outside of downtown Gig Harbor’s waterfront. It is semi-walkable, but only a hop, skip, and a jump right into downtown—you can pop into Tides Tavern really easily, you can go to the farmers market, and Summer Sounds at Skansie.

These homes are going to be priced anywhere from $1.5 million for a fixer upper on the smaller end, all the way up to $3.5 million for something that’s really dialed in. They have incredible views, high bank waterfront, and eastern exposure, so you are going to be looking at Vashon Island, the Colvos Passage, Pacific Northwest wildlife, Mount Rainier, and you may even be able to see right up into the mouth of Gig Harbor.

The reason why these homes are so expensive is because it’s this beautiful blend of being so close to town, but quiet. You get this serene atmosphere, but you’re not far from the freeway, modern amenities, and shopping. If you are a boater, you’re only seconds away from your boat if it’s in the marina. And then you have access to high bank waterfront and incredible views. If you are somebody who likes to wake up early in the morning and you love the Mount Rainier views, eastern exposure is where you want to be, right here on Soundview Drive, Reid Drive, Hollycroft Street, Cascade Avenue—these are the views that you want to capture and the real estate that you’re going to be looking for.
